This is my latest linocut – it isn’t available from my shop yet but it will be soon!
I’ve printed it on to a cork notebook (more on cork at a later date – I love the stuff) but will also be printing it on to cards too. This was a two block print. The first was a basic circle. I printed it using two shades of orange to get that gradient effect. The second was the nightingale cut. I then hand finished it using some white, just to highlight the eye and the branches of the tree that he’s standing on.
I’m starting to use more shapes as backgrounds for my images. I think they add a good brightness which gives the final image a lot more impact. They’re also a good way of making a basic linocut look more complicated!
